TELL US ABOUT LIFE AT ESQUIRE MAGAZINE?

Life at Esquire Magazine is good. I'm the deputy style editor on the print magazine, which mainly entails writing about fashion, grooming and lifestyle. But today that means working across print, digital, the occasional video and some events, too. I've been here since 2015, so the role is always shifting. Today it's much more versatile. You have to be able to do a bit of everything.

HOW IMPORTANT IS THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN MEN'S FASHION AND MEN'S GROOMING?

It's very important in my view. Men are becoming increasingly knowledgeable about skincare, fragrance and the male beauty space as a whole. A few years ago it was enough to slap on some moisturiser and call it a day, but now having a considered approach to taking care of your skin and body is cool. A stylish life also means having a semblance of a grooming regime. At least wash your face in the evenings.

WHAT KEY PIECES WILL YOU BE ADDING TO YOUR WARDROBE FOR AW20?

I've recently bought a navy belted overcoat from Acne Studios, which I'd been after for ages. It was a bit of an extravagance. When will I wear it? Who knows! I'd also love a custom work jacket from Bode and a new pair of cords and matching jacket from Universal Works. Also a Shetland knit jumper from Howlin'. I've been mapping it all out you see.

WHAT IS YOUR MORNING GROOMING ROUTINE?

I tend to wake up at dawn and just scream out the window for 10 minutes. On a serious note, I've been getting into YouTube yoga videos and running, so that really helps to get things going. In terms of a grooming routine, I shower, wash my face, then daily moisturiser, eye drops, eye cream and an SPF. Matte clay for my hair. Nothing too insane, but it works for me.

WHAT ESSENTIAL PRODUCTS DO YOU TAKE WITH YOU WHEN TRAVELLING?

Always a face wash, SPF, deodorant, daily moisturiser, night cream and a small bottle of fragrance. Just to have the option of an evening.

WHAT PRODUCTS FROM THE ESQUIRE + BEAST. GROOMING BOX HAVE YOU ENJOYED USING?

I'm a big fan of the Plant Apothecary Wakey Wakey bodywash. It smells nice, the bottle looks great and it's 100 percent natural. Also the Sa.AL & Co intense moisturiser. It's my first experience with the brand, so I'm a new fan. It feels substantial without being too heavy and smells goodgoodgood.
